The Duke of Cambridge quizzed the broadcaster on glaciers, filming challenges, plastic pollution - and even sea otters.
While being shown a dramatic clip from the show, Sir David told him that it was difficult capturing the precise moment a glacier "calved" the piece of skyscraper-sized ice, according to The Guardian.
The Duke of Cambridge smiled and quipped: "Quite like children, Sir David, unpredictable."
The royal was today interviewing the naturalist live on stage at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland about the environment.
